Pro football season is back, and all of the staff members here at South Florida Clothiers South Florida Friday Fun Fact are excited! And why shouldn’t we be? Once again the State of Florida has established its dominance in the NFL.

And no, this is not a massive overreaction to 1-0 starts by the Dolphins, Buccaneers, and Jaguars.

We’re talking about Florida’s continued dominance in fielding the largest amount of players by state on NFL rosters. This year Florida comes in at #1 once again with 211 players on NFL rosters originating from the state (California is second with 185). Last year Florida was #1 as well with 201 players.
As if that wasn’t impressive enough, St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale had SIXTEEN alumni make an NFL roster. SIXTEEN! We will repeat that: SIXTEEN STA alumni made NFL rosters. This means that of the approximately 37,000 high schools in the U.S., STA is providing about 1% of all NFL players, which is nothing short of astounding. No other high school even comes close. Go Raiders! Go Florida!
